Alumnus of the Year
In 1995, the 澳彩开奖网 Faculty Senate Executive Council initiated a program to recognize an outstanding alumnus at commencement each year.
The Outstanding Alumnus is a person who graduated from 澳彩开奖网 with a certificate or associate degree, has achieved distinction in his or her chosen field of employment, has been involved in community service, and is not presently a trustee or an employee of 澳彩开奖网. We sincerely congratulate all of the past recipients listed below.

Kim Robertson Selected as 澳彩开奖网 2022 Alumna of the Year
Alumnus of the Year Award recipients must have graduated from 澳彩开奖网 with a certificate or associate degree, achieved distinction in his/her chosen field of employment, been involved in community service; and not be a current trustee or an employee of 澳彩开奖网.
鈥淚 am grateful for the education I received at 澳彩开奖网, which I believe contributed to my later academic and professional success,鈥� she said. 鈥淚 had some excellent professors and instructors and they helped instill in me a desire to continue my education. In addition, my education at 澳彩开奖网 helped me develop the writing skills that have served me well since then.鈥�
Robertson has served as Leader Publications Editor since 2020 and previously was Managing Editor from 2016-2020, Arnold-Imperial Leader Editor from 2002-2016, and Reporter from 1999-2002. She also served as an adjunct English instructor at 澳彩开奖网 (1997-1999), McKendree University (1997-1999), and Belleville Area College (1992-1997).
After graduating from 澳彩开奖网 with an associate degree in 1989, she completed a Bachelor of Arts degree from Webster University in 1990, and both a Master of Arts in English (1993) and Master of Education (1996) from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She currently serves as a board member and treasurer of the C-6 Educational Foundation and is a former member of the Arnold Rotary Club, Jefferson County Youth Association, and parent volunteer at Simpson Elementary School in the Fox C-6 School District. Kim and her husband, Steve, have a son, Steven Robertson II.
鈥淚 genuinely believe a good education is a person鈥檚 most valuable asset, contributing to his or her professional and personal success and helping the person make a positive contribution to society,鈥� added Robertson.
