Wind Ensemble
Do you play an instrument? Have you been wondering how you could get back into playing your instrument?
The 澳彩开奖网 Music Department is inviting experienced instrumentalists from both the college and the community to join the wind ensemble for some great music-making and camaraderie.
澳彩开奖网 is committed to performing the highest quality literature composed for the wind ensemble genre. The ensemble performs works from the core repertoire for winds as well as more contemporary works and new compositions. The wind ensemble performs twice each semester in the 澳彩开奖网 Theater, in addition to other opportunities in the surrounding Jefferson County community. The ensemble is comprised of both music major and non-major students as well as qualifying high school students and adult members of the community from throughout Jefferson County. In addition to the large ensemble, the Music Department at 澳彩开奖网 also offers opportunities to perform with chamber ensembles.
Players are needed in the wind ensemble for all sections including woodwinds (flute/piccolo, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, alto/tenor/baritone saxophone), brass (trumpet/cornet, trombone, baritone/euphonium, French horn, tuba), and percussion. The wind ensemble is open to all college students, music majors and non-music majors, and experienced adult musicians. 鈥淚 know there are many excellent musicians in the area and I invite them to join us for this college-community Wind Ensemble experience,鈥� said Director Elke Overton.
There is no cost to participate in the band unless a participant wants to receive college credit for the wind ensemble course by completing the required admission forms and class enrollment. Regular class attendance at band rehearsal and participation in all wind ensemble performances are required for those seeking college credit. Regular attendance for all members is expected.
