Most people would probably picture the average college student as a recent high school graduate who lives on campus and pays for their education with help from their parents. But this is not the case for many of our students! Did you know that the average age of a °Ä²Ê¿ª½±Íø student is 22?

Finding the time to work, attend classes, take care of children, study, and sleep — all within 24 hours — can feel impossible for busy adult learners. That is why °Ä²Ê¿ª½±Íø takes pride in offering you flexible schedules, AAS Degrees and Certificate options that take you straight from classroom to a career, partnerships with four-year universities that allow you to continue your education, as well as many online and hybrid options. We are committed to your academic success every step of the way.
Financing a College Education
Most students worry about whether they can afford a college education and adult learners are no different. Those with children or other family members to care for may find it especially difficult to pay for their education. °Ä²Ê¿ª½±Íø is one of the most cost-effective choices among Missouri colleges and universities, offering an outstanding value and many financial assistance opportunities. In addition to federal and state grants, we offer many °Ä²Ê¿ª½±Íø specific scholarships. We also encourage you to search the web for additional resources created just for adult learners.
Lack of Support
Let’s face it - adult students can face many obstacles! °Ä²Ê¿ª½±Íø is committed to providing you with a welcoming and supportive environment! You can get to know other adult students by joining a student group. If you are concerned about childcare, we have you covered! With °Ä²Ê¿ª½±Íø’s Early Childhood Center, both you and your child can be on campus at the same time. If you need a part-time job while attending school, contact our Workforce and Employment Services Office for help writing resumes, networking, and employment opportunities. You can also check out opportunities to work on campus.
Applying to °Ä²Ê¿ª½±Íø is the first step to a whole new world of possibilities- because we are in this together.
