Every law enforcement agency in the State is required to report crime data monthly to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP). MSHP creates and maintains computer files of the Missouri data and supplies information not only to the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) for use in national crime statistics, but also to local agencies and organizations. As required by the U.S. Department of Education, the CLERY Act requires higher education institutions to make public certain crime data. Daily Crime & Fire Log

The purpose of the daily crime log is to record all criminal incidents and alleged criminal incidents that are reported to or identified by the JCPD and occurred within the Clery geographical boundaries of the 澳彩开奖网 main campus. Crime log case numbers do not run sequentially.  The 澳彩开奖网 Police Department assigns a case number for all reportable activities, bot criminal and non-criminal. Only case numbers generated for criminal activity are listed in the crime log and are listed in chronological order with the most recent crimes listed at the bottom of the list. 

The purpose of the Fire Log is to document any reported fire that occurred in or on a campus student housing facility.         

The CLERY Act requires that the most recent 60 days of campus crime and campus fire logs be available immediately to the public free of charge and without hesitation.  For entries into the crime/fire logs that are older than 60 days, they will be available within 2 business days of a request.  Crime Logs and Fire Logs are maintained for 7 years.  Daily crime/fire logs can be viewed in "hard copy form' at the 澳彩开奖网 Police Department located at the Hillsboro Campus-802 Mel Carnahan Drive, Apartment 214, Hillsboro, MO 63050. In the crime log, the number listed in the nature/classification box is the number of crimes/victims/violators that occurred during that specific incident.  For example: "liquor violation-Underage (6) means 6 students were referred or arrested for an underage liquor violation." 

According to Federal Law, an institution may withhold any of the required fields of entry, i.e. the nature, date, time, location, and/or disposition if any of the following conditions apply:

1. The disclosure is prohibited by law.
2. If disclosure would jeopardize the confidentiality of the victim.
3. If disclosure would jeopardize an ongoing criminal investigation or the safety of an individual.
4. If disclosure would cause a suspect to flee or evade detection.
5. If disclosure would result in the destruction of evidence.

Note: Incidents with a case number that starts with "SC" involve information received by JCPD from the Office of Student Services.  In these incidents, the incident was reported directly to that office and not the JCPD, therefore, it is not always possible to provide information regarding the five areas typically covered in the Crime Log. i.e. (Nature/Classification, Date Reported, Date Occurred, Time, General Location, and Disposition).  Because an official report was not filed, the disposition will be "Closed-Referred to Student Conduct" and will list the number of people associated with the report.  These incidents are reported to the JCPD for statistical purposes and are posted to the Crime Log as the information is received by the JCPD.

Note: Incidents with a case number that start with "CSA #-Year" involve information received from other College Officials, who are defined by Federal Law as "Campus Security Authorities."  These Officials share non-identifying information, with the JCPD that is provided by the victim.  In these incidents, the crime was reported directly to the CSA and not to JCPD, therefore, it is not always possible to provide information regarding the five areas typically covered in the Crime Log. i.e. (Nature/Classification, Date Reported, Date Occurred, Time, General Location, and Disposition).  Because an official report was not filed, the disposition will be "Cleared-No Further Action."  These incidents are reported to the JCPD for statistical purposes and are posted to the Crime Log as the information is received by the JCPD. 

Note: Incidents with a case number that start with "HPD or JCPD or other outside law enforcement agency" involve crimes reported directly to outside law enforcement agencies, but not to JCPD, therefore, it is not always possible to provide information regarding the five areas typically covered in the Crime Log. i.e. (Nature/Classification, Date Reported, Date Occurred, Time, General Location, and Disposition).  Because an official report was not filed, the disposition will be "Cleared -No Further Action."  These incidents are reported to the JCPD for statistical purposes and are posted to the Crime Log as the information is received by the JCPD.  

Note: Incidents with a case number that start with "Title IX" involve information received by JCPD from the Title IX office.  These are cases that were reported directly to them and not to JCPD, therefore, it is not always possible to provide information regarding the five areas typically covered in the Crime Log. i.e. (Nature/Classification, Date Reported, Date Occurred, Time, General Location, and Disposition).  Because an official report was not filed, the disposition will be "Closed-Received from Title IX."  These incidents are reported to the JCPD for statistical purposes and are posted to the Crime Log as the information is received by the JCPD.
